The proverbs [truths obscurely expressed, maxims and parables] of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
That people may know skill and godly wisdom and instruction, discern and comprehend the words of understanding and insight.
If you will turn [repent] and give heed to my reproof, behold, I [Wisdom], will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make My words known to you. Over the door of the school of Plato these words were written in Greek, “Let no one enter who is not a geometrician.”

But Solomon opens wide the doors of his Proverbs with a special message of welcome to the unlearned, the simple, the foolish, the young, and even to the wise, that all “may increase in learning.”

Read “the Wisdom of God” [v23] instead of “Wisdom” and see the wonderful power of this book.

  1. Christopher Bock says:

Plato was saying that he was arrogant. He didn’t know anything, he merely thought he did, and his work lead to the creation of politics and lawyers. What I fear is that 300 year later he had a second coming. You may be batting for the wrong side.

    Plato cannot repent.
